Ahmedabad: Tractor manufacturer John Deere India will work with grassroot innovators to help them in large scale manufacturing and commercialization of innovative products. The company entered into an agreement with the National Innovation Foundation - India (NIF) on Thursday to work closely on innovative grassroot projects of mutual interest.
Under the agreement, John Deere will voluntarily visit the innovators' place for reciprocal learning and exchanging ideas. The company will open its factory doors to innovators for knowledge sharing.
According to a statement from NIF, "Both, the innovators and engineers would also work together on joint projects for value addition and product development. John Deere would also identify innovations from NIF database to explore opportunities for large scale manufacturing and commercialization."
NIF, an autonomous body of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India is engaged in scouting, documentation, augmenting and adding value to the innovations at the grassroots level.
