With a user base of approximately 125 million, growing at over 40 per cent, India has been amongst the top three fastest growing markets worldwide over the last 12 months, according to a recently released study. In fact, the digital medium is rapidly gaining acceptance amongst audiences and is expected to fuel growth of media and entertainment sector in the coming years.
The internet segment can potentially outshine the print sector by 2014 in advertising spends, claims another study released last week. India, uniquely positioned with the second largest mobile subscribers across the globe, is expected to witness a phenomenal rise in the number of users accessing internet from their mobiles. And evidently, companies are already gearing up to leverage this huge opportunity available in the domestic circuit.
