In an exceptional move today and clearly showing that India means business, the Government of India today cleared impacting policy decisions across a slew of sectors from multi-brand retail to civil aviation and broadcasting. The fact that the announcements have come over the course of a single day conveys a very decisive mode. The reforms are a substantive government push, which are being welcomed by industry and business associations within the country. These can be expected to have multiplier effects and benefits on the economy, including a fillip to infrastructure and employment generation.
