Amongst the prominent initiatives undertaken during 2013, IBEF commenced the series titled ‘Perspectives on Indian Economy’ conducting engaging conversations with noted economists and personalities for a view on the current state of the Indian economy and the future outlook. Beginning with Mr Anand Sharma, Minister for Commerce, Industry and Textiles, Government of India in January this year, IBEF has so far conducted six interviews as part of this series.

The other prominent personalities include Dr C Rangarajan, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister Office, Government of India, Mr Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India, Mr Gurcharan Das, Noted author, commentator & public intellectual, Mr Bibek Debroy, Professor, Centre for Policy Research and Dr N R Bhanumurthy, Professor, National Institute of Public Finance & Policy.

The interactions have one thing in common – the belief that the country is facing a short term growth challenge and the medium-long term India growth story stands intact. India is preparing for the next economic leap and it is just a matter of time that once again the country appears centre stage in the global economic context.
