Dr C. Rangarajan currently leads the Economic Advisory Council, which has been set up to provide the Government of India with diverse perspectives on key economic issues. He has held this position since 2009 and also from 2005 to 2008. Previously, Dr Rangarajan has donned several hats at the policy level, which include his roles as former Governor, Reserve Bank of India and ex-Member, Planning Commission. In this exclusive interaction with IBEF, Dr Rangarajan elaborates on the short term and long term prospects of the Indian economy and expresses confidence that India will steadily move to higher levels of growth.
