Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited commissions seventh 500 MW thermal power unit at Vindhyachal STPS

New Delhi: State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has added successfully commissioned the seventh 500 MW unit of Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station (STPS), situated in Vindhyanagar in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. BHEL had already commissioned six units of 500 MW each at Vindhyachal power station. After this new addition, the plant has 7 sets of 500 MW aggregating to 3,500 MW, the highest by BHEL in a power project. As per the contract, BHEL's scope of work included design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, commissioning of steam generator and steam turbine generator along with associated auxiliaries, controls and instrumentation.
