Centre Releases Rs 3131.50 Lakhs for Promoting Farming of Herbal Products in 2014-15

New Delhi: Rs 3131.50 Lakhs funds have been sanctioned to States/UTs during the financial year 2014-15 for herbal farming under “Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Mission on Medicinal Plants". At present this scheme has been merged under “Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission”

National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) is providing financial assistance to the States for cultivation of medicinal plants under “Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) of Ministry of AYUSH.

33052.03 hectare area was supported during the last one year (2014-15)for cultivation of medicinal plants / herbal farming under “Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission”.

This information was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik in a written reply to an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha.
