Crompton Greaves wins Rs 115 crore order from Power Grid Corporation

New Delhi: Crompton Greaves has bagged an order worth Rs 115 crore from the state-run Power Grid Corporation for supply of transmission equipment for the latter's Vemagiri and Srikakulam sub-stations in Andhra Pradesh, the Avantha Group company said in a statement Monday.

The order entails supply of shunt reactors, which are used high voltage energy transmission systems to stabilize the voltage during load variations, for 765kV transmission system.

"CG won this order beating stiff global competition and its successful track record having partnered with PGCIL for multiple projects. These reactors when commissioned will not only enhance the transmission efficiency of the national grid, but will also improve the quality of power that reaches the consumer," the company said in the statement.
