Mumbai: DSK Motowheels Pvt. Ltd, part of the DSK Group, which sells imported superbikes in India, has entered into a partnership with Italian motorcycle firm Benelli Armi S.p.A., the company said on Friday.

DSK Motowheels will assemble and sell Benelli bikes across the country and provide service and spares for them, Shirish Kulkarni, chairman of DSK Motowheels, said in the statement.

DSK Benelli will set up exclusive dealerships in 20 cities over the coming six to eight months. An initial round of dealerships will come up in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai and Kolkata in the next three to four months.

The Indian market is the most important market for Benelli, and this will become one of the biggest markets for the company in terms of sales, said Frank Zhuang, board director of Benelli QJ SRL. "We firmly believe Benelli will have great success in India with DSK as its partner, by launching right products at the right time with the right pricing," Kulkarni added.

Benelli is present in nearly 30 countries including Italy, Germany, France, China, the UK, USA, Australia and Spain, he said, adding that the company now plans to introduce some of the world's best designed and performing superbikes to the second largest two-wheeler market in the world.

Some of the models from the Italian motorcycle maker include the TNT superbikes that include the in-line, two cylinder TNT 302; the in-line, four-cylinder 600cc TNT 600 as well as TNT 600 GT; the 898cc, in-line, three-cylinder TNT899; and the 1,131cc, in-line, three-cylinder engine-powered TNT1130R, a 155bhp plus superbike.
