Five Greenfield, three Brownfield electronic manufacturing clusters in Gujarat by 2015

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Science & Technology Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama on Tuesday speaking at the conference of IT Ministers in New Delhi said that Government of Gujarat will set up at least five Greenfield and three Brownfield Electronic Manufacturing Clusters in the State by 2015. Government of Gujarat will also set up a Semoconductor FAB in the state soon, he added.

Chudasama mentioned that Gujarat has already drafted a separate eGovernance Policy as a step in contributing its bit in realization of the vision of Digital India. The new policy will focus upon across the counter delivery of nearly 500 services, augmenting last mile connectivity to bridge the urban-rural divide, on demand availability of IT infrastructure, platforms, e-connecting all Government departments and promotion of Digital Literacy and skill up-gradation for gainful livelihood in the state, he stated.

The Gujarat Minister urged GoI to expedite implementation of National Optical Fiber Network in Gujarat. He further reiterated request of Gujarat Government to facilitate the setting up of a national level eGovernance Campus in the state equipped with next generation ICT infrastructure, a national eGovernance academy, cyber security cell and Centre of Excellence & Digital Library for eGovernance best practices.
