IL&FS Engineering Services bags Rs179.84 crore port project

New Delhi: Hyderabad-based infra player IL&FS Engineering Services on Tuesday informed the bourses that it has bagged a port project worth Rs 179.84 crore in Maharashtra.

"The company has received a letter of award (LOA) from IL&FS Maritime Infrastructure Company Limited (IMICL) on behalf of Dighi Port Limited for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the development of multipurpose berth, backup yard development and utilities of multipurpose terminal berth 5 on the north of Dighi Port, Agardanda in Maharashtra," the company said.

According to the company, the project completion period is 545 days from the date of notice to proceed (NTP) and the scope of work includes design and construction of multipurpose berth, reclamation of 50 acres of backup area, among others.

IL&FS Engineering Services is also presently executing the EPC contract of berth 4 of multipurpose cargo terminal works on the north of Dighi Port.

This month, the company had also bagged LoA from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a project valued at Rs 1,232 crore. The project included four-laning of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi section of NH-83 in Bihar and had to be completed in 1095 days from the date of commencement of work.

"The widening of this national highway will give a major boost to the tourism industry there as it falls under the Buddhist circuit. It also will provide substantial economic gains in terms of reduced vehicle operating costs and reduced travel time," the company had said in a statement.
