India now has 100% digitised ration cards: Paswan

New Delhi: For the first time ever, all the ration cards in India are digitised, food minister Ram Vilas Paswan said.

Addressing a meeting in Bhubaneswar today, Paswan said that 42% of the digitised ration cards are linked to Aadhaar cards.

In total, around 77,000 ration shops across the country have automatic point of sale devices installed, he said, all of which will help in checking leakage and pilferage of food grains distributed through public distribution system.
