L&T bags Rs 1,630-crore expressway project in Uttar Pradesh

Mumbai: Engineering firm Larsen & Toubro has bagged a Rs 1,630 crore order from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority to build a six-lane access controlled expressway from Neval village in Unnao district to Lucknow.

The engineering, procurement and construction or EPC contract entails completion of the 63 km expressway within 36 months.

"This project is likely to spur economic development along the route with trade, agricultural and economic corridors proposed at different places. In addition it will reduce travel time between Lucknow and the National Capital Region via the functional Agra-Greater Noida Yamuna Expressway," the Mumbai-headquartered conglomerate said while announcing the order on Tuesday.

The contract also includes construction of the service roads, 26 pedestrian underpasses, 18 vehicular underpasses, four major bridges, 10 minor bridges, one trumpet interchange and associated works.
