L&T bags construction orders worth Rs 1,099 crore in May

Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro has bagged construction orders worth Rs 1,099 crore in the month of May, the engineering major said Monday.

The orders include jobs from power transmission and distribution sector worth Rs 517 crore in both the international and domestic markets. In the domestic market, the company bagged a rural electrification project under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana scheme at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh from Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam. In the international market, the company has received an engineering, procurement and construction order from a private developer for two substations in the Middle East. 

L&T bagged orders worth Rs 300 crore for construction of buildings and factories. The company also bagged jobs worth Rs 282 crore in its water smart world and communication business. 

L&T order book was worth Rs 2,32,649 crore at the end of March. At 14:20IST, shares of L&T were trading at Rs 1,706.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 3.1% from previous close.
