Medplus to open 1,100 stores in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana

Hyderabad: MedPlus Health Solutions Pvt. Ltd, India’s second largest pharmacy retailer, on Thursday said it plans to open 1,100 new stores in all districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh through the franchise route.

The proposed expansion is in contrast with the company’s existing model of running its own stores.

Medplus, with over 1,350 outlets spread across 12 states in the country, operates only about 4% of them under the franchise model.

“We decided to open more stores under the franchise model as we want to expand to the interiors of the two states,” said Madhukar Gangadi, founder and chief executive offer of MedPlus.
