MPS acquires US-based publishing solutions firm Electronic Publishing Services

Mumbai: MPS North America Llc, the US subsidiary of Bangalore-based publishing solutions provider MPS Ltd, has acquired Electronic Publishing Services Inc. (EPS), a New York-based firm with interests in content creation, art rendering, design and production. The deal will allow MPS to strengthen its foothold in North America, the firm said in an exchange filing on Tuesday.

EPS mainly caters to the higher education and professional publishing markets. Commenting on the development, Rahul Arora, chief marketing officer, MPS Ltd said, "The acquisition of EPS further strengthens our presence in North America and enriches our portfolio in the educational publishing market."

MPS North America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MPS and provides editorial, design, research and production services to educational publishing market. It also offers solutions for online and print products. MPS was formed through the demerger of MPS Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Macmillan. The financial details of the transactions were not disclosed.

Eilleen Mitchell, president at EPS, will continue with her current role.
