Nittan opens production facility at Sri City

Chennai: Nittan India Tech, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese auto major Nittan Valve, has inaugurated its production unit at Sri City.

"The Indian market is very promising, and this new unit will enable us to better respond to orders for engine valves from the OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) operating in India," Hisao Takahashi, president of Nittan Valve, said.

"The inauguration of Nittan's very first Indian production unit at Sri City marks a significant milestone in the saga of their development and upholds their determination to be the leaders of Indian market too," Ravindra Sannareddy, managing director, Sri City, said.

Sannareddy added that Nittan India's entry to Sri City was followed by the Japanese auto giant Isuzu and several automotive ancillary industries.

"Following the visit of a high level delegation led by chief minister of Andhra Pradesh to Japan for attracting auto majors and to build an investor-friendly ecosystem, the state government announced plans to develop an automobile hub in the Nellore-Chittoor region close to Chennai and Bengaluru," he said.
