Pilot training programs by MANAS launched

New Delhi: The first Skill Development Training programs of Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) was launched on pilot basis here today on the 125th birth anniversary celeberations of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. In this regard two Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) were signed by MANAS .One with the representatives of Health Sector Council for launching training programs on Bed Side Attendant and Home Health Care Attendant through Skill Tree Consultant Pvt Ltd for 200 girls & boys and the other with Security Sector Council launching security services training program for 100 persons being organised through T.S. Skill and Tech Pvt. Ltd. The Ministers distributed the Enrolment Cards to some of the trainees selected for the three training programs under the Health and Security sectors. These training programs will ensure 100% employment of trainees. The outcome of the first training programs will guide the Ministry in expanding network of MANAS and help it to acquire an All India footprint.

Speaking on the occasion Dr.Najma Heptulla, Union Minister for Minority Affairs said that to increase coverage of program under MANAS, Ministry has recently increased income eligibility criterion for trainees from Rs.1.03 lacs to Rs.6.00 lacs (annual) to facilitate providing training and concessional credit. This change of base is likely to benefit 12 to 13 crore people, she added. The Ministry of Minority Affairs is going to nominate MANAS as its Project Implementing Agency.

Highlighting Maulana Saheb's contributions in shaping the Education System of the country, She said the role of skilling will be to fuel economic development of country and ensure inclusive growth of Minorities to achieve 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas'. She said the establishment of MANAS is in line with transformational vision of the Prime Minister and will further the cause of skilled India. Referring her cabinet colleagues invited for the occasion Dr Najma said that they are immensely contributing in realising the vision of skilled India (Hunarmand Hindustan). Sh.Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment , Smt.Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister for Human Resource and Development also spoke on the occasion while Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy Minister of State of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship(Independent Charge) could not make to the event.

The Mister asked her cabinet colleagues present in the function to utilize MANAS for implementation of their schemes and programs. Ministry will also write to other ministries to associate MANAS under their programs specially relating to skill development of Minorities and use the facilities at MANAS for achieving 15% allocations of funds for Minorities under their schemes. She said that these Ministries would be requested to nominate their officers on the Board of MANAS to facilitate in implementation of their Skill Development Training Programs.

Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi who assumed office as a Minister of State for Minority Affairs today said he will prefer to work in close association with people to eliminate middlemen and ensuring that benefits of various schemes of the Ministry reach desired people.
