Toshiba plans to set up rail systems equipment facility in Hyderabad

New Delhi:  Japanese multinational Toshiba Corporation is looking forward to establish a new production facility of electrical equipment for railway systems in Hyderabad. According to a statement by Toshiba, the new plant would manufacture power conversion systems and train control systems that provide overall operation management, and will employ over 100 employees by 2020. The plant would be built by Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems India (TTDI), and production would commence from April 2017. "India is an exciting, growing market that is committed to robust, long-term investment, especially in electricity and transportation infrastructure, and we are strongly committed to the country across our business lines", as per Mr Katsutoshi Toda, Chairman and Managing Director, TTDI.
