Union labour ministry okays 4 Rajasthan Bills

New Delhi: The Union labour ministry had given its nod to four reform Bills passed by the Rajasthan Assembly, it is learnt.

The Bills have moved to the Union home ministry. After its approval these will go to President Pranab Mukherjee for his assent.

"The ministry had given a go-ahead in early September. The Bills will go to the home ministry for its approval," said a government official.

The Rajasthan Assembly on July 31 had passed changes to the Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Apprenticeship Act and Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act. These are on the concurrent list.

"If the ministry has given its approval, there should be no problem in the Bills getting the Presidential assent," said Prabhat Chaturvedi, former labour secretary.
