Videocon Telecom eyes Rs 2,500 crore revenue from Financial Year 2015

New Delhi: Regional carrier Videocon Telecom plans to generate Rs 2,500 crore revenue in the financial year ending March 2015, more than double of the financial year ended March 2013, on the back of aggressive subscriber addition, a senior executive said Thursday.

The telecom arm of conglomerate Videocon Group closed the financial year 2014 with revenue of Rs 1,049 from four operational circles, national and international long distance operations and its wire line business in Punjab.

Videocon Telecom lost all its licences in February 2012 after a Supreme Court judgment but it won back licenses in six circles in a government auction later that year. Four of these circles are operational where the company had registered highest growth in subscriber net addition, besides increasing brand visibility and positioning in the industry.

Arvind Bali, director and CEO of Videocon Telecom said, "Since our comeback in the telecom domain early last year, we have taken a whole lot of initiatives to sustain and grow in this over competitive market and today Videocon Telecom is synonymous with best-in-industry products and services which has attracted a huge consumer base to the brand."

The telco aims to reach the Rs 2,500 crore revenue mark by March next year for which strategic intent and go-to-market plans have been crystallised, Bali added.
