According to the data released by Grant Thornton India, an accounting and consulting firm, the total merger and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) deals in February 2012 were valued at US$ 15.43 (94 Deals) as compared to US$ 8.24 (74 Deals) in the corresponding month of 2011.
Moreover, the total value of outbound deals (Indian companies acquiring businesses outside India) in February 2012 was US$ 0.44 billion (5 Deals). The total value of inbound deals (foreign companies or their subsidiaries acquiring Indian companies) in February 2012 was US$ 0.27 billion (9 Deals).
The total value of domestic and internal restructuring deals in February 2012 US$ 14.05 billion (36 Deals) as compared to US$ 0.09 billion (26 Deals) during the corresponding month of 2011.
PE deal values amounted to US$ 0.67 billion (44 Deals) in February 2012.
