According to the data released by Grant Thornton India, an accounting and consulting firm, the total merger and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) deals in the month of July 2012 were valued at US$ 2.09 billion (75 deals).
Moreover, the total value of outbound deals (Indian companies acquiring businesses outside India) in July 2012 were US$ 1.30 billion (17 deals) as compared to US$ 0.85 billion (12 deals) during the corresponding month in 2011. The total value of inbound deals (foreign companies or their subsidiaries acquiring Indian businesses) in July 2012 were valued at US$ 0.13 billion (8 deals).
The total value of domestic deals in July 2012 were US$ 0.28 billion (17 deals) as compared to US$ 0.07 billion (19 deals) during the corresponding month in 2011.
