According to the data released by Grant Thornton India, an accounting and consulting firm, the total merger and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) deals in the month of November 2013 were valued at US$ 1.45 billion (78 deals).

Moreover, the total value of outbound deals (Indian companies acquiring businesses outside India) in November 2013 was US$ 116 million (4 deals). The total value of inbound deals (foreign companies or their subsidiaries acquiring Indian businesses) in November 2013 were valued at US$ 466 million (15 deals).

The total value of domestic deals in the month of November 2013 were US$ 122 million (19 deals).

The top 5 M&A sectors were identified as pharmaceuticals, healthcare and biotechnology, banking and financial services, IT and ITeS, telecommunication and FMCG.
