Indian aviation to attract US$ 12.1 billion investment
The Government of India has envisaged an investment of US$ 12.1 billion in the airports sector during the 12th Plan period, and of which, US$ 9.3 billion was expected to come from the private sector for construction of new and low-cost airports and expansion and modernisation of existing ones, said Mr Ajit Singh, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Government of India.

SpiceJet orders 42 Boeing 737s in US$ 4.4 billion deal
SpiceJet has signed a US$ 4.4 billion deal for 42 fuel-efficient Boeing 737 Max planes. The planes would be delivered from 2018 onwards. “We are looking at every aspect of procurement. We are introducing a new schedule and changing flight patterns which will improve productivity of pilots and crew by 20 percent, said Mr Sanjiv Kapoor, COO, SpiceJet.
