According to the data released by Grant Thornton India, an accounting and consulting firm, the total merger and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) deals in the month of February 2015 were valued at US$ 3.4 billion (113 deals), which is 40 per cent higher in volume and 36 per cent higher in value as compared to February 2014.
Moreover, the total value of outbound deals (Indian companies acquiring businesses outside India) in February 2015 was US$ 278 million (8 deals). The total value of inbound deals (foreign companies or their subsidiaries acquiring Indian businesses) in February 2015 was valued at US$ 1,554 million (9 deals).
The total value of domestic deals in the month of February 2015 was US$ 867 million (23 deals) as compared to US$ 385 million (21 deals) during the corresponding period of 2014.
