Carpet Export Promotion Council is organizing the 35th edition of India Carpet Expo from 8th till 11th March 2018 at NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla, New Delhi.
The Expo being held under the aegis of Government of India will be inaugurated on 8th March 2018 at 10.00 A.M. by Shri Ajay Tamta, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles. Shri Haseeb Ahmed Drabu, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Culture and Labour & Employment, Jammu & Kashmir shall grace the occasion.
India Carpet Expo is one of the largest Handmade Carpet Fairs in Asia which serves as a unique platform for the buyers to source the best of handmade carpets, rugs and other floor coverings under one roof. It is held annually with a view to showcase the Cultural Heritage of Indian Handmade Carpets & Other Floor Coverings and Promote the Weaving Skills of Indian Weavers to the visiting overseas carpet buyers.
The 35th India Carpet Expo has received an overwhelming response with over 258 exhibitors displaying their products in the show and over 350 Carpet importers from 60 countries have signed up for the Expo. The exporters have traditionally been mainly from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, U.K. and USA; this year will mark the first time entry of buyers from Bulgaria, Israel, Malaysia, Mauritius, Taiwan, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Serbia and Hungary. India Carpet Expo has established itself as a great sourcing platform for the carpet buyers from all over the globe.
Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) was established by exporters under Companies Act in the year 1982 and is a non-profit organization, set up with the objective to promote and develop exports of Handmade Carpets, Rugs and other Floor Coverings. It is an official body of handmade carpet exporters for promotion of exports from country and projected India's “Make in India” image abroad as a reliable supplier of high quality handmade carpet products. CEPC therefore, helps in R & D, quality assurance, timely delivery of finished products across the globe in addition to skill enhancement of weavers / artisans / entrepreneurs, strengthening base in existing markets, identifying potential markets, educating about government policies and its compliances, providing assistance for brand building of Indian hand-made carpets, through publicity, participating in and organizing world renowned trade fairs, expositions and road shows etc around the word in established markets.
