Promoting bilateral business and trade, The India Show

A tumultuous crowd, trade and business queries, women pouring over Indian weaves, textiles, gems and jewellery, young students reading attentively the Brand India facts was a real sight for the eyes at the recent Department of Commerce led The India Show in Lahore.

The trade exhibition held in the recently constructed Lahore Expo Centre was reported as a rare event in the Lahore media that saw serious business and curious crowds throng the venue each of the three days of the Show. Inspired by the weaves and architectural designs of both India and Pakistan, IBEF showcased messages on Brand India wrapped in the theme designs. Messages on business facts on the nation brand and the possibilities that it offers for collaboration provided the framework within which the exhibition was ensconced.

Curiously, the brand designs enamoured the visiting crowds some of whom even took photographs against the theme walls. Each of our brand kits comprising The Best of India in Services, the Experience India CD and the business magazine, India Now, Business and Economy were picked by those interested in knowing more of business India or simply about business opportunities across sectors.

And what better could it have been a compliment for IBEF when the Director General of Lahore Expo Centre called me early morning prior to our departure the day following The India Show with a request: Could we retain the theme wall designs in which you have wrapped our Lahore Expo Centre for our own next exhibition? You would know my answer, I guess!
