India's rooftop solar capacity stood at 525 megawatt (MW) this year, registering a growth of over 66 per cent. States like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Gujarat lead in total installed capacity in that order. In fact, India has the potential to grow up to 6.5 gigawatts (GW) in rooftop solar capacity by 2020 due to the improved project economics. It may be noted here that solar capacity installation in India over the past 12 months was almost equal to the cumulative of what was added in the last three years.

According to another recently released report, number of internet users in India is expected to touch 402 million by December 2015, making it the second largest internet base in the world after China. India currently has 375 million internet users. In fact, while Internet in India took more than a decade to move from 10 million to 100 million and three years from 100 million to 200 million, it took nearly a year to move from 300 million to 400 million users.

Mumbai: India's economic growth is expected to be driven by consumption growth in FY 2016-17 as opposed to being driven by investments in FY 2015-16, as a result of the anticipated pay revision of government employees, according to a report by Standard Chartered Bank.

New Delhi: The number of internet users in India is expected to reach 402 million by December 2015 which will make it the second largest internet base in the world after China, according to Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

New Delhi: India added the highest number of net mobile phone subscriptions of 13 million during the third quarter of 2015, which was equal to the additions of China (7 million) and US (6 million) combined, as per a report by Ericsson.

New Delhi: Nasscom Foundation, part of software services industry lobby group Nasscom and government’s industry partner for National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM), has partnered with SAP India to establish 25 NDLM centres in 12 cities across India, which are expected to increase to 125 centres by March 2016.

Madhya Pradesh is among the fastest growing states in the country. At current prices, the gross state domestic product (GSDP) of Madhya Pradesh for 2014-15 was US$ 84.27 billion. Between 2004-05 and 2014-15, the CAGR for GSDP was 12.83 per cent.Madhya Pradesh is rich in natural resources - fuels, minerals, agriculture and biodiversity. The state represents 8.3 per cent of the country's coal reserves and has 218.04 billion cubic metres (BCM) of estimated coal-bed methane reserves.
India’s sports goods industry is nearly a century old and has flourished, driven by a skilled workforce. Being labour-intensive in nature, the industry provides employment to more than 500,000 people. India’s sporting goods are popular around the world and have made a mark in the global sports goods market. The domestic industry exports nearly 60 per cent of its total output.
