Today, ABB employs over 10,000 people across more than 40 locations in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka; the company has 12 manufacturing sites in the subcontinent.

The company gives a strong focus on R&D and maintains seven corporate research centres around the world, of which one is based in India. ABB has continued to invest in R&D through all market conditions.

From high-voltage DC power transmission to a revolutionary approach to ship propulsion, the company has had a hand in developing them all. In partnership with WWF India, ABB has set up a solar-powered, multi-purpose battery charging station which provides electricity to a community in West Bengal.
