Visa Steel Ltd is a flagship company of the Visa Group, which has business interests in steel, power, cement, international trading and urban infrastructure etc.

Visa Steel is a leading player in the special steel, ferro chrome and metallurgical coke business in India. It has its registered office in Bhubaneswar; corporate office in Kolkata and branch offices across India. The company has a strong backing of experienced promoters, reputed board of directors and qualified team of professionals.

Visa SunCoke Ltd, a joint venture (JV) company between Visa Steel Ltd and SunCoke Energy, USA, is operating a 400,000 million tonnes (MT) per annum heat recovery coke plant and associated steam generation units at Kalinganagar in Odisha.

Visa Steel plans to set up a fully integrated steel plant at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. The Company also plans to set up a steel plant and a manganese alloy plant in Madhya Pradesh (MP).

The Company plans to integrate backwards to the mining of iron ore in Chhattisgarh and manganese ore in MP for which grant of captive lease is presently under the process of allotment by the Government.

2014 The Board of Directors of Visa Steel Ltd at its meeting held on December 18, 2014, had considered and approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of Kalinganagar Special Steel Private Ltd with VISA Steel Ltd.
2013 Visa Steel and Power Ltd and US-based SunCoke Energy has sewed up their JV for manufacturing coke, a coal-derived product used for making steel.
2011 Visa Steel Ltd has acquired 280 acres for its 2.5 MTPA, Rs 8,000 crore (US$ 1.28 billion) integrated steel plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh
2010 Visa Steel has entered into a JV with Baosteel to set up a 100,000 tonnes per annum ferro chrome plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha.
2003 Visa Steel was founded.
India's current steel producing capacity of is ~140 mtpa and the figure is anticipated to rise to 300 mtpa by 2030-31.
