Auto industry all set to roll out BS-IV vehicles from 1 April: SIAM

New Delhi: The Indian automobile industry will commence the production of the Bharat Stage IV (BS-IV) norms compliant vehicles from April 1, 2017, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The BS-IV emission norms will be applicable to all vehicles across the country from 1 April, 2017. The Indian auto industry has been the fastest in the world to upgrade its emission norms, said Mr Vinod Dasari, President, SIAM. It will also be the first in the world to upgrade from BS-IV to BS-VI emission norms by 2020.
