Confident of achieving target of 175 GW renewable power by 2022: R K Singh

Renewable power limit of 33.47 Gigawatt (GW) has been introduced in the country during the most recent three years and current year till May 31. 

The government has set an objective of introducing 175 GW of framework associated renewable power limit from different renewable power sources by 2022. 

This includes 100 GW from solar, 60 GW from wind, 10 GW from bio-power and 5 GW from small hydro power. 

In the next 15-20 days, a scheme will be launched for farmers where they can set up 2 MW solar panel to produce power which will be bought by the government.

As the Suyamitra Skill Development Programme, which was launched in 2015 and renewable energy minister R.K Singh informed that the target is to be train 50,000 Suryamitras by 2020 in the country and will also include the state of Bihar.
