Govt exploring opportunities to make India USD 1 trillion digital economy

New Delhi: The Government of India is going to explore new opportunities in various sectors such as providing BPO service from home, digital healthcare and agriculture to achieve the target of making India a US$ 1 trillion digital economy. To achieve this aim, the government has held a meeting with the executives of technology companies and financial firms. The meeting was chaired by Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology and attended by executives from companies such as Facebook, Google, Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank. Among the suggestions received were ideas to promote work-from-home BPOs, bedless hospitals and to come up with a model RFP in order to promote digital economy.
