India's fuel demand rose 7.5% in December

New Delhi: Consumption of fuel in India increased 7.5 per cent year-on-year to reach 17.39 million tonnes in December 2017, according to data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. Sales of petrol increased 10.3 per cent year-on-year to reach 2.17 million tonnes, sales of cooking gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rose 6 per cent year-on-year to 2.06 million tonnes, sales of bitumen increased 3.7 per cent year-on-year in December 2017. The use of fuel oil fell by 10.1 per cent year-on-year in December 2017.
