Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) completed a Rs 732-crore (US$ 101.74 million) order to deliver long rails to the Indian Railways as on July 29, 2019. The company provided 1,26,604 tonnes of long rails to Indian Railways ahead of schedule, as a part of order. JSPL had supplied 97,400 tonnes of long rails in April, four months ahead of the schedule.

JSPL has won the first-ever global tender for the supply of rails to Indian Railways in July 2018. There were seven leading global manufacturers of rail out of which JSPL bagged the bid.

In the addition to this, the company is also expecting an order of a minimum volume of 2 lakh tonnes per annum of 13/26 metre rails from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and IRCON International Limited.
