New Delhi, January 14, 2015: Brand India aims to make its presence felt during the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled to be held from January 21-24, 2015 at Davos. Regular visitors at Davos are highly familiar with the India Lounge set up each year by the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), an association of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, adjacent and outside Café Schneider.
Enlivened by engaging conversations involving - corporate leaders, influential thinkers, social entrepreneurs, citizen groups, accademia, media - all in the warmth of Indian hospitality, the India Lounge is centrestage to the nation brand campaign led at Davos. It is seen by global businesses and media as the hub for connecting with India.
This year the nation brand messaging at Davos is inspired by the Made in India programme of the Government of India. “Make in India is a key initiative launched by the Government of India. It is a major new national programme, designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property and build best in class manufacturing infrastructure,” said Mr Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
