Finesta Building Systems to open three more studios this fiscal

Hyderabad: Gurgaon-headquartered UPVC (unplasticised poly vinyl chloride) windows and doors manufacturer Finesta Building Systems, a unit of DCM Shriram Limited, on Tuesday inaugurated its sixth signature showroom in Hyderabad and announced that it has plans to open another three studios in Kolkata, Pune and Bangalore this fiscal.

"Hyderabad's studio is spread over 2,500 square feet area and we are planning to open three more studios by the end of this financial year. Our studios are generally spread over 1,500 -2,500 sq ft area," Fenesta Building Systems business head Saket Jain said on sidelines of the inauguration of the company's studio here. However, he did not disclose the investment size.

Jain pointed out that the company was also expanding its manufacturing unit in Chennai. "At present, we have four manufacturing units (Bhiwadi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai) with a total capacity of 17,000 -18,000 units per month but after we carry out expansion of our Chennai unit, the total capacity will be 20,000-22,000 units per month," he said.

Meanwhile, speaking about the market size, the company's top official said that it stood at around Rs 1,200 crore in India and is expected to more than double in the next five years.

"There is a great scope for growth in the market as the current penetration level of the UPVC windows and doors in India is just 7-8%, while in the western countries, it stands at 60-70%," he added. UPVC windows and doors are considered to be weather proof, more durable as compared to other materials such as wood and can reduce outside noise due to its insulation properties.

Jain informed that the company also had recently launched new products such as conservatory and composite doors, which it is importing from Taiwan and UK, and assembling it here.

"Currently, these products form just 1% of the total revenues but in the next one year, we expect to garner 5-10% of the total revenues from these products," he added.
