Rolta wins multi-year multi-million Pound GIS Contract from UK Power Networks

Pune: Mumbai-based Rolta, provider of IT, engineering and geospatial services, today announced that it has been awarded a seven-year contract by UK Power Networks, a major utility company that delivers electricity to London, the South East and the East of England. This multi-million pound contract will manage and update the firms spatially-enabled network asset information.

"It's our job to keep the lights on for 8 million customers and in our first five years as a company we have made huge strides in reducing the number and duration of power cuts. Ensuring we have reliable and up-to-date records about our key infrastructure is a key and ongoing part of this work, and we are very pleased to be awarding this contract to Rolta", explained Matt Webb - Head of Asset Information.

He further added, "This new partnership represents an important step forward in improving our GIS data management capabilities whilst achieving best value for money."
