Romania to tie up with domestic pharma companies

Ahmedabad: A Romanian delegation led by their health minister said that the country will tie up with the Indian pharmaceutical companies for research and develop new drugs.

"Romania will collaborate with India for license acquisition to sale India's drugs in Europe. We will tie up with the Indian companies, and national drug agency of Romania will inspect India's pharma companies. The procedure should be made faster for the bene fit of both the country," said Mario Crute, counselor in ministry of health in Romania at GCCI.

Cretu also said that Romania's state-owned drug manufacturing company `Antibiotice Iasi' will collaborate with Indian pharmaceutical companies to develop new drugs and medicines. "The Romanian company will collaborate with Aurobindo Pharma to develop anti-viral medicines, Macleods Pharma for medicines for tuberculosis and Cipla Pharma for medicines of cancer," added Cretu.

Health minister of Romania Nicolae Banicioiu along with the members of his delegation also conducted a meeting with the GCCI office-bearer on the future plans of pharmaceutical industries in India.
