President Mr Pranab Mukherjee has approved the constitution amendment bill on the goods and services tax (GST), paving the way for setting up of a GST Council, which will make recommendations on design of GST, rates and other important aspects before the new indirect tax regime rolls out, targeted for April 01, 2017.
