Narendra Modi launches ₹60,000 crore projects in Uttar Pradesh

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone for 81 projects worth ₹60,000 crore in Lucknow at a function organized by the Uttar Pradesh government.

“In its endeavour to attract investments and promote industrialization, the government of Uttar Pradesh had organized the UP Investors Summit in February 2018. This led to generation of investment intent across various sectors like renewable energy, infrastructure, power, IT and electronic manufacturing, tourism, etc,” Modi said.

Around 80 leading industrialists, including Aditya Birla Group’s Kumar Mangalam Birla, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani, Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra, and ITC Ltd managing director Sanjeev Puri, participated in the event.

Adani said his company is ready to invest ₹36,500 crore in UP which will create 190,000 employment opportunity. “We have committed to establish a multi-modal logistics park, thermal power plant, solar parks, roads, highways & expressways, integrated food complex and silo terminals for food grains towards the strong and holistic development of the state,” Adani tweeted.
