Number of recognised startups rises to 86,713 in Dec 2022 from 445 in 2016

As on 31st December 2022, 86,713 start-ups were recognised by the government. According to the government's Startup India action plan, these firms are entitled to avail of financial incentives. The Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Mr. Som Parkash said that the number of startups that have been officially recognised and expanded due to the ongoing sustained government initiatives from 445 in 2016 to 86,713 as of December 31, 2022.
1,006 industrial units amounting to US$ 14.85 million (Rs 122.71 crores) have been built in the UT of Ladakh. Furthermore, a total of US$ 3.22 billion (Rs 26,650.49 crores) in investment proposals have been received by the Union territory, Jammu and Kashmir.
