Tech Mahindra ties up with Israel's IAI to provide cybersecurity solutions

New Delhi: IT major Tech Mahindra has partnered Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to provide cybersecurity solutions to Indian as well as global companies. IAI is fully owned by the Israeli government.

The partnership follows the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to India in January this year, when the two nations had signed pacts for cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too had visited Israel in July, where the issue was discussed. The IAI is globally recognized as a leader in developing military and commercial aerospace technology.

The partnership with Tech Mahindra aims at providing cutting-edge cybersolutions and services to government and private enterprise in India and around the world. The companies did not share the commercial aspects of the deal.

The pact will enable the companies to design custom-made security operation centres (SOCs), computer emergency response teams (CERTs) and forensic laboratories based on automation and orchestration tools, artificial intelligence and machine learning analytics. The companies will train and manage security services, and develop technologies, which will meet the evolving challenges in the cyber domain.

CP Gurnani, managing director & chief executive officer of Tech Mahindra said the strategic partnership would herald a new chapter in tackling complex global cyber security threats in today's digital age with an advanced cyber security framework.

Tech Mahindra said its SOC capabilities along with IAI's broad suite of cyber intelligence and defense products would innovate the services in cyber intelligence, protection, monitoring, identification and integrated cyber resilience. The companies are targeting sectors such as critical infrastructure, telecom, defence. Rajiv Singh, senior vice-president and global head of cyber security unit of Tech Mahindra said the focus would be on skilling and re-skilling employees. Tech Mahindra has around 1,200 employees in the field of cyber security, of whom many will be trained as part of the deal.

"This partnership will go a long way. We will look for a joint venture with Tech Mahindra for developing solutions," Maya Kadosh, acting ambassador, Embassy of Israel said.
