New Delhi: The Government of India is aiming to double the share of natural gas in India's energy mix by 2030 in order to reduce pollution and emissions. To do the same, it is providing a US$ 10 billion push for the required infrastructure. Recently, the government has completed the country's biggest city gas distribution network auction to link more than 10 million homes to gas grids by 2020. This expansion in the gas economy and infrastructure will be a boost for the pipeline industry in the country. The expansion will provide an opportunity of over Rs 300 billion (US$ 4 billion) for the domestic pipeline industry, according to Jindal Saw Ltd.
