Chennai: IT services major CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation), which has a head count of over 20,000 employees, has entered into a five-year agreement with Chennai-based Amelio Childcare for setting up an onsite childcare facility on the CSC campus at MEPZ in Tambaram.

The childcare facility would have exclusive infant rooms, classrooms, CCTV systems to monitor the children, a centre manager room and a kitchenette.

"The setting up of onsite childcare facility is expected to provide a lot of comfort and relief to working mothers allowing them to focus on work and grow within the organization," Raghavan Jawahar, director, Amelio Childcare, said.

In terms of the overall teaching experience, the centre would focus on a theme-based approach exposing kids to activities which take care of all aspects of a child's early development including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, sensorial and language.

Amelio's curriculum methodology, christened the World of Discovery Curriculum, has been designed for Indian environment by experts in early childhood education, child psychologists and experts in child care.

Company officials said that while childcare facilities would continue to be a key focus area, the growth driver in the future would be from onsite centres. "We are currently in discussions with other leading IT and BPO companies to set up onsite childcare facilities." Sridevi Raghavan, cofounder and chief executive officer, Amelio Childcare, said.
