The Strategic Forces Command (SFC), in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), executed a successful flight test of the New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime on April 03, 2024. Conducted from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha, the trial achieved all its objectives, validating the missile's reliable performance. Data from many range sensors, including two downrange ships stationed at the terminal point, confirmed the test's success. Key dignitaries at the launch included the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Strategic Forces Command, and senior officials from DRDO and the Indian Army.
Defence Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces for the successful test, emphasizing that the development and induction of the missile would serve as a significant force multiplier for the Armed Forces. Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, and Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, Dr. Samir V Kamat, commended the collaborative efforts of SFC and DRDO in ensuring the success of the flight test.
