Residential sector spearheads influx of realty investments with US$ 693 million in Q1 2024: Cushman & Wakefield

In the first quarter of 2024, the Indian real estate sector attracted investments worth US$ 1.1 billion, with the residential segment leading at US$ 693 million, as per a Cushman & Wakefield report. This rise in investments is attributed to robust housing demand, increased investor confidence, and significant contributions from domestic investors.

Bangalore emerged as the top city in terms of investment volume, particularly in the office sector, followed by Pune. Equity investments accounted for 58% of the total investments, with the residential sector receiving the majority. Debt investments also doubled compared to the previous eight quarters, primarily directed towards residential projects. Despite a slight slowdown in early-stage deals, corporate transaction volumes recorded a notable 65% increase year-on-year, with Mumbai driving the majority of transactions.
