India launches mission to skill 400 million by 2022
On the occasion of World Youth Skill Day, Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi launched the government's National Skill Development Mission aimed at training 400 million Indians by 2022.
ADB's India forecast: Sunny with a chance of 7.8% growth
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) estimates India’s GDP to grow at 7.8 per cent in FY16 and 8.2 per cent in FY17, higher than growth estimate of 7.5 per cent by International Monetary Fund (IMF) and 7 per cent by The World Bank. The higher growth estimate is based on growth expectations in agriculture, investments and services sector.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will support arrangements for aggregating farm produce to facilitate credit flow to the agriculture sector, particularly from foreign banks operating in India, as RBI has extended priority sector lending rules to foreign banks and has given a roadmap with timeframe for foreign lenders to meet PSL targets.
