Aadhaar usage and adoption by inhabitants is expanding significantly, indicating how it is rapidly boosting residents' comfort of living. In August, 219.71 crore authentication transactions were completed using Aadhaar, representing a 44% increase over July 2022. The majority of these monthly transaction figures were completed utilising fingerprint biometric authentication, followed by demographic authentications and OTP authentications.
As of the end of August 2022, a total of 8,074.95 crore Aadhaar authentications have been completed, compared to 7,855.24 crore at the end of July. In August, there were 23.45 crore e-KYC transactions completed using Aadhaar. The total number of e-KYC transactions has risen from 1,249.23 crore in July to 1,272.68 crore at the end of August. Residents successfully updated 1.46 crore Aadhaars in August, while 65.01 crore Aadhaar numbers have been successfully updated to date (end of August) in response to requests from residents.
These requests are for demographic and biometric updates performed at both physical Aadhaar centres and through the online Aadhaar network.
